    Nathan;
    Tracking coupon or discount programs is relatively easy by using your POS system. Restaurant owners spend a lot of money on these systems and rarely use their full potential. You can set up a key for each referring source of business that servers use to ring in coupons and/or discounts.

    You should also remind owners that these promotions and discounts should be tracked for tax purposes. This is a cost of doing business that is deductible.
